The Story

Mark Severn died in a Budapest traffic accident. Homeland sent Sam Jameson to sign for his effects and be home by Saturday.

The body in the morgue belongs to somebody else.

Book Six. Under a multispectral lens the hotel walls light up with blood nobody bothered to clean, because nobody expected anyone to look. The trail runs home to an NSA deputy director killing Americans with drones.

Book Seven. Sarah Beth McCulley was five years old. She died on the grass in Arlington four seconds after Sam said take him. Homeland suspends her. Justice indicts her. A senator says her name on television, slowly.

Book Eight. March took twelve people and Sam's career. By August she is in Charleston — sober, unemployed, going to the movies alone. Then a man she once helped interrogate slides a note across her table: Alexander Wells is alive. The trail was laid for her by a private apparatus riding the NSA's own wires.

Book Nine. No badge, no backup, a stolen .45, and twenty-four hours to find three men whose implanted chips are the only keys to a darknet conspiracy no agency will touch.

Book Ten. A note on the kitchen counter in Brock's handwriting. A hostage video in his voice. Neither one of them is him.

Five novels. The second arc of the million-selling Sam Jameson series, for readers of Daniel Silva, Mark Greaney, Barry Eisler and Brad Thor.

The first arc took away Sam Jameson's institution. This one takes away the premise that she was ever on the outside of the problem.

The machine that watches everyone doesn't work for the government anymore.

Who's Behind The Chaos

About The Author

Lars Emmerich, author of the Sam Jameson series

When Lars Emmerich was twelve, he went to an airshow. An F-16 flew over the crowd, low and fast and impossibly loud. Something stirred in his chest and tears formed in his eyes. It was love at first sight. Lars and the F-16 went on to enjoy fifteen incredible years together.

While Lars was a young lieutenant in Undergraduate Pilot Training, he read a Tom Clancy novel. It was his first exposure to the espionage and conspiracy thriller genre, and again it was love at first sight. “I will write stories like this one day,” he vowed solemnly.

He’s still trying to live up to that promise.
